Mr. Jerry Fred Kirkland, age 76 of the Coldwater Community of Calloway County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Friday, June 21, 2019 at his home
He was the owner of the Kirkland Trucking and Farms; he was a member of the Angus Association and was also member of the first graduating class of Calloway County High School in 1961.
Jerry was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on January 15, 1943 to the late Fred and Mary Arnett Kirkland. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hendon Kirkland; two sisters, Sue Gamble and Jean Bazzell.
He is survived by two sons, Freddie Kirkland of Murray, Kentucky and Nickie Kirkland and wife Jan of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Evelyn Cole of Exton, Pennsylvania.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, June 24, 2019 in the Coldwater Church of Christ Cemetery. John Dale will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.

I always enjoyed seeing Uncle Jerry when we made our summer trips to Kentucky. You were always so kind to our family and I wish we could have spent more time together. My condolences to Freddie, Nick and Jan.

Mr Kirkland became a friend of ours in the past year. We got to know him eating at the Cadiz Restaurant and ate with him on Friday and Saturday nights quite a bit. We sure will miss our friend. Much love and prayers for his family.

Freddie, Nick, and Jan so so sorry. My heart breaks at yet another major loss to your family. God knows how much your family has meant to me over the years.
