Condolence & Memory Journal
Jake, Elizabeth, and family although I could not be there in person yesterday I was in spirit. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers since learning of Kristy's passing. I will always remember seeing all of you sitting at the back of the sanctuary on Sunday mornings and waving and speaking to all of you especially my favorite guy Jake. He will always be one of my boys and he was definitely a special son. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers moving forward.

We became fast friends after we realized that our boys were friends, I will always be grateful to Kristy, she always had nice things to say about my son Dan and I know he thought of her as his 2nd Mom. She welcomed me into her Rotech family also. I will miss emailing her and catching up every so often. My heart goes out to the family and our thoughts and prayers are with your family. You are already so very missed.

Kristy was one of the best friends I've ever had. We must have been around 9 or 10 when we met. We quickly became inseparable and I was lucky to live diagnally to to her house on Whitnell. I have more fond memories of the fun we had than I could possibly put into writing. Among my favorites are those tacky tennis shoes we bought together at Sav-Rite. We thought it was hilarious that they only cost $2. Or when we were "playing guitar" with tennis rackets and singing along with a Queen album. My mom walked in and startled us just as we were really starting to rock out! Or when we got skateboards for Christmas or that time we let ourselves into my cousins' house and rearranged all the pictures and art they had on their walls. We were such brats! Or all the times we blasted our Kiss live double-albums or all the times we went trick-or-treating or riding our bikes everywhere - I doubt that Big-K was as happy to see us as we were to see them. And yes, there was some mischief but I'll leave that out since she knows what I'm talking about and is laughing with me at how stupid we could be when we were little kids. Let's just say we should have stayed on our own property. Haha. While I'm beyond sad that I'll never hear her laugh again (this just doesn't seem real), I'm so grateful that she befriended me all those years ago and for making my life so much more fun and interesting. She was like the very best kind of sister to so many of her friends: caring, loyal, creative, smart, sincere, reliable, and hilarious. The universe has lost a very bright soul. May we carry on her legacy of kindness and humor. I'll miss you so much, Kristy. All my love forever, Jimmie Tipton
