Aunt Sally, July 19, 2021

Nancy and I were saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He will be sorely missed.

When we face such times of loss, it is easy to say We can find comfort knowing there is life past death but it is hard path to walk, for the separation is very hard, even in the midst of believing.

For the pain is real, and the hope oft seems to be blurry, for our eyes are full of tears.

All I know is this. Every moment I spent with you and Dave was precious, for you made each other better. Such memories do sustain, and such memories will be borne by our enduring and endearing hope.

For we know that we each are heart, soul, mind, and body. When our body is failing, and when our body fails, we have hope hope that soon becomes reality.

For this is our reality: Our heart, soul, and mind will be clothed in a new body, a fully intact, never to decay or die body. Dave's hope is now his reality. In truth, none of us are far behind.

So our separation is but for a moment, then our reunion will be for a million moments. Our reunion with Dave will be a forever reunion; and not just with Dave, but with all those we have lost on this earth. Our hope is spending forever with a God who loves us, and His Son, who showed us love by risking His forever to give us this hope of life past death. For this hope is not just what we have for Dave, it is the hope we share with Dave.

May this hope shine through today's tears, even as Dave is deeply missed.

With aching hearts and hopeful joy,

Phil and Nancy Lifsey

I'm sorry to hear that David has passed. He was a kind man and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach with him at CCMS from 1979 to 1984. He was ALWAYS willing and eager to help anyone who needed help.

Sally: we are sorry to hear of David’s passing. David was one of my mentors when I came to Murray to teach at Calloway Co. HS. I have fond memories of his stories about teaching and especially the wisdom he freely gave as a retired teacher.

We are in NYC visiting our new grand baby, so we will say a prayer for the Foley family as you mourn, but also celebrate David’s great legacy.

We love you and pray you will be able to have peace.

My condolences to Dave’s family. I met Dave in either 1971 or 1972 when we worked together in construction for Jackie Burkeen. We became lifelong friends after that. I am so glad he kept teaching because both my children were students of his at Calloway Middle. Rest In Peace my friend.

David and I worked together one summer either 1971 or 1972 for my uncle Jackie Burkeen. I felt like I made a life long friend. I was so happy that he made the decision to go back to teach because my children had him at Calloway Middle. Condolences to all of his family. Rest In Peace my friend.
