Mr. Michael "Mickey" L. Wilson, age 64, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Mr. Wilson was born on October 3, 1956, in Lexington, Tennessee to the late James Wilson and Valeda Bush Wilson. He was a self-employed contractor, developer, and skilled carpenter. Mickey attended the Coldwater Church of Christ. He was an accomplished horseman and breeder. He also enjoyed showing in halter and western pleasure classes through the American Quarter Horse Association. Mickey loved doing all things with his grandson, especially playing baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Valous and Elaine Bush; as well as his paternal grandparents, Robert and Rena Wilson.

Survivors include his daughter, Maddie Wilson Johnson and husband Andy of Murray, Kentucky, three sisters, Joy Lowrance of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Jacqueline Langston and husband Jay of Lewisburg, Tennessee, and Jill Montgomery and husband David of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother, Jim Wilson and wife Susan of Lewisburg, Tennessee; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. But most importantly his pride and joy, his grandson, Colt Johnson. Colt loved building houses with "Pa", learning about tools and equipment, as well as taking breaks and getting a Mountain Dew.

A private family memorial service will be held.

I was so shocked to hear the news of my talented friend's passing. He really knew how to build great pieces. He will be greatly missed. For you his family I pray peace and knowing that he was loved by all.

So sorry for your loss. A good man gone way too soon. The best at wood working that I have ever seen. I used to marvel at his ability to keep measurements in his head. Didn't write them down. Cut the pieces and they fit perfectly. He did several jobs for me through the years. I have a table and cabinet in my dining room that he built. They will be my daily reminder of Mickey. Prayers for the family during this very hard time.

I always enjoyed talking to Mickey. It would always end up being about the construction trades and building wood projects. He was a very gifted man and will be missed greatly. Tammy and I will continue to pray for Maddie,Andy and Colton❤❤❤

Maddie, Andy, and Colt and the family Eddie and I are so sorry for your loss. Eddie enjoyed so much talking to Mickey on Sunday mornings at church.He counted him as a very good friend. We always looked for Colt when we would go by the construction site on our way to Murray. May God give you comfort and strength during this difficult time and the days ahead.
