Mrs. Barbara Ann Scott, age 79, of Murray, Kentucky died on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Lakeway Nursing and Rehab in Benton, Kentucky.

Mrs. Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 23, 1942, to the late Samuel C. Scott and Ethel (Collins) Scott. Mrs. Scott was a retired nurse and a member of the Independence United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Scott; they married on January 26, 1957, in Corinth, Mississippi; two sisters, Dorothy Wyatt and Velvaleen Burkeen; and by three brothers, Howard Scott, Larry Scott and Donald Scott.

Mrs. Scott is survived by three sons, Randal Scott and wife Tonya of Hardin, Kentucky, Roger Scott and wife Marianne of Almo, Kentucky and Chris Scott and wife Kim of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Adam Scott and wife Whitney of Murray, Kentucky, Sara Scott of Murray, Kentucky, Emily Wilkins and husband Kalub of Whitehouse, Tennessee, Kristen Scott of Murray, Kentucky, and Stacey Brewer of Hardin, Kentucky; seven great – grandchildren, Aaliyah Catlett, Sabree Ballard, Layna Scott, Nora Scott, Ryder Scott, Levi Scott and Fiona Scott; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Kendrick Lewis and Rev. Richard Burkeen officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

I hate to hear if Barbara's passing. I was her pastor during the first 5 years of my ministry, and she was always an inspiration. Prayers for all of her family and friends.

So sorry to hear about Barbara. She was the sweetest lady. God received one of his angels when MS Barbara passed. We have known her for years and years and she was always the sweetest, and kind. And she loved her family and was so proud of them. Marty and Lori Duncan.
