Obituary

Mr. Stephen Scarbrough, age 68, of Buchanan, Tennessee, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Scarbrough was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on October 31, 1949 to the late Norman M. Scarbrough and Emma Jane (Farris) Scarbrough. Mr. Scarbrough was a veteran of the Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars and a retiree of the United States Navy. He served 20 years as an Aviation Ordnanceman from 1969 – 1993 and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (AOCS). After his retirement he farmed and worked for Interrail Signal Systems in Cottage Grove, Tennessee. He was a member of the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Scarbrough is survived by his wife, Gail (Kemp) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee, to whom he married on March 17, 1992 in Green Cove Springs, Florida; two daughters, Jimi Dawn Wells of Puryear, Tennessee and Julie Wells–Bolen and husband Adam of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Aaron Scarbrough and wife Brooke of Chesapeake, Virginia and Chance Scarbrough and wife Tori of Green Cove Springs, Florida; two sisters, Liz Woodham of Adel, Georgia and Mary Moody of Gulfport, Mississippi; two brothers, Keith Scarbrough and wife Alice of Bowdoinham, Maine and Ron Scarbrough and significant other Mary Rogul of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Liam, Jean Paul, Camden, AJ, Aubrey, Stori and Madyson Scarbrough and Jordan Van Iterson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Escue officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation held on December 4, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church.
